LG V30 Oreo update: The latest Android version for your flagship device

As promised, T-Mobile has started rolling out the LG V30 Oreo update over-the-air. The carrier has updated its support page for both V30 and V30+ to confirm this. The update arrives as software version H93220h.

Update: Beginning May 21, Verizon has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to the LG G6. It becomes the first U.S. carrier to release the G6 Oreo update, similar to what happened with the V30 Oreo update. AT&T started dishing out the Oreo update on June 6 while those on T-Mobile joined the party on June 29.

LG V30 Oreo update begins rolling out

A few days to the end of last year, LG began rolling out Android Oreo update for the V30 and V30+ in Korea. LG had been beta testing its Android 8.0 update for about a month. The Oreo update arrived as software version V20e and unlike the Verizon version, it was sized 1411.90MB.

I doubt Stylo 3 Plus will get Oreo update as the Stylo 4 is going to be released and it has Oreo and the hardware spec difference is nothing much, nice marketing move on LG part, this is my first and last LG phone as they do not seem to support their products except the flagship, i came from an iphone 5s which got three different OS upgrades and that was not a flagship device, seen sony upgrade non flagship as well my wifes samsung A5 is scheduled for oreo on June 25, no improvement in my eyes since LG opened their software center, they produce nice product but after support is worth something.

LG introduced the V30 smartphone at the IFA in August running Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) and it already promised to offer Oreo update for the phone. Now LG has started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the V30 users in South Korea through LG OS Preview program. It is available for all the carriers.

We will keep following this story and bring you any new developments regarding when to expect the T-Mobile LG V30 Android Pie update to begin rolling out. Meanwhile, do you see yourself buying another LG smartphone? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Thankfully, the new Android 8.1 update that just started rolling out has a compromise for both of these issues. With a tiny bit of work, you can now hide both the "Apps running in the background" (now called "Apps using battery") as well as the "Drawing over other apps" notifications.
