The port betas are published as the Arma 3 main branch on Steam for both platforms. If you own Arma 3 and install it on Linux or Mac, Steam will download the data for those platforms. No special Steam branch needs to be selected. More installation help can be found here.
Ubuntu 16.04 and all distros with Xorg1.18 or higher, need the AMDGPU-PRO beta driver (for newest GPUs) or Oibaf MESA drivers (recommended). Installing AMDGPU-PRO: -us/download/linux. Oibaf driver info can be found here.As MESA drivers are quite frequently updated, we've been using the latest version (18.1.0-devel) for testing and found that many graphical issues and crashes have been fixed.

After selecting a branch, Steam client will begin downloading the differences in data. It can be recommended to do a local file verification afterwards to be sure the correct update was downloaded. Note that Steam client does not allow you to maintain multiple parallel branches on your hard drive. Our Game Updater tool does allow this for certain branches.
Arma 3 was released to generally favorable reception, with praise toward the visuals and immersive realism, but criticism toward the difficulty for new players and the lack of singleplayer content on release.[8] Arma 3 has been actively maintained and expanded by Bohemia Interactive and publishing partners, with almost twenty significant updates and downloadable content (DLC) releases since 2014. Almost a decade since its release, Arma 3 maintains a substantial player base and an active modding community.[9]
Bohemia Interactive officially announced the development of Arma 3 on May 19, 2011.[17] In June 2012, an alpha version of the game was demonstrated at E3.[18] In August 2013, Bohemia announced that they would release three downloadable content episodes for free after the game's initial launch.[19]
In Arma 3, downloadable content falls under two categories: "platform content", which is present in the game; and "expansion content", which is not preloaded and must be purchased and mounted to the game to be accessed. All Creator DLCs and most of the Contact DLC are considered expansion content, and are mostly considered non-canon in the Arma universe.
Great launcher, thank you!Unfortunately after the latest update of the system (I use Garuda) launcher won't start.Tried to run it as application - it just doesn't start. Tested in terminal - it gives error like this: arma3-unix-launcher: symbol lookup error: arma3-unix-launcher: undefined symbol: ZN6spdlog7details7log_msgC1ENS_10source_locEN3fmt2v817basic_string_viewIcEENS_5level10level_enumES6
TADST is a tool that allows you to easily configure a dedicated ARMA server. The idea is that this tool is downloaded and placed in the ARMA Server folder and it reads the configuration files, mods, and makes it easier to configure and launch the ARMA 3 Server.
Before downloading Tacview, please make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements and is up to date. The installation process is straightforward. For additional support please refer to the FAQ and the documentation related to your favorite flight simulator. If you have questions not covered by the documentation, please contact our technical support.
Once you have Steam installed and have either created or logged into your existing account, search for the ARMA 3 game clicking "Games" > "View Games Library" > "SteamOS + Linux" or if you haven't purchased the game, then purchase the game clicking "STORE" just below the top menu bar. The initial download requires 9-12 hours using DSL.
The top root folder for all ARMA 3 folders appears to be "/home/USER/.local/share/bohemiainteractive/arma3/" which appears to contain the AppDataLocal/ AppDataShared/ GameDocuments/. With the exception of GameDocuments being equivalent to the "C:\Users\user\Documents\Arma 3\". (Replace USER with your user name!) This is really nice, as we now have a central location for almost all files, with the exception of the main program files still being located under the Steam root folder.
The following lists the equivalent folder locations for Windows folder locations in comparison to Linux folder locations. Aliasing the folder locations with the cd command within the Bash configuration file is probably a good idea! (ie. cd-arma3, cd-arma3-usercfg, ...)
Workshop content appears to be first downloaded to a temporary sub-folder and then moved to a numbered folder within the same folder. Workshop content (or mods) are then also apparently copied into the main game folder. Workshop content or Mods atypically are prefixed with an "@" sign. (ie. @ADR-97)
Change execute permissions (chmod 755 arma3.sh) and execute the game using this file (./arma3.sh). Do not forget to first, login in to steam. Users would use this solution, if for some reason, they cannot utilize the existing starting wrapper script.
To explore, communicate, and connect in Second Life, you'll need to download our 3D browsing software, or what we call the SL Viewer. It's not only fast and easy to download and install, but it's free and contains no spyware.
Satya Desktop allows for an all-inclusive, secure and private session. Fully autonomous, loaded from scratch and ignoring your current OS and hard disks, it is protected from insecure computers, infected downloads and removable media.
If any TAILS developers are around, please make your download less irritating by providing a complete list of options and a short description and recommendation along instead of making downloading an ISO image a complex feat and making people irritated.
Agreed. Used to be able to download the hashes and gpg sig separately. Now you need a Firefox extension to validate the direct download. I think the bittorent is still there. Annoying to find though. And how do you validate the Firefox extension. What were they thinking? And running from a USB stick seems unsafe now a days.
In the past their webpages are very straightforward without confusion. A single button to click on to download the entire ISO (HTTP or Torrent option) and then additional documentation pages on how to use them not bundled inside the Download page to keep things plain and simple.
re: Firefox Download ExtensionWhat happens if the browser is infected ? ? The better solution would be using an existing Tails to verify and download a new version but that excludes the problems new comers have for secure download. Yet another round about problem that would be hard to solve.
Number one, if they want to be seen to be innovating, they will take it seriously. Number two, there's a large community of people who want it and were involved. If I end up with a million downloads of the PC version and we want to do it on Xbox Live and they don't think it's a good idea, then they're just crazy...someone needs to be fired.
The fact that they are still supporting the PSP and giving it updates is fantastic. So give them a pat on the back for that. The fact that the new PSP isn't download-only is a head in the sand move.
I'm watching the new iPod, with Wi-Fi, allowing you to download your music right into it. I mean, do we have to draw [Sony] a picture or something? It is so obvious where you have to go, and they don't seem to be able to grasp the concept.
No, what I would do is have some piece of software inside the PSP that would validate you have a certain game, sends off the code, and unlocks it for storage. It's a bit like when you get a new Mac and you go to the store and say 'I honestly did buy all those songs' and they say 'Yes, you did. You're good to go.' It should be like that. There should be some authentication system, and then I can download them on the fly.
The new PSP Digital would not require a memory stick--it would come in 4GB & 8GB models. Unlike iPods, however, it would offer an expansion slot for memory sticks. All your game data is safe--If your PC dies, you can always download the library again; if you drop the PSP in the bathtub, you have the games on PC.
Right now, retailers are allowing them to do these little game downloads, and that's why they have to lock memory limits and everything else. They can't be seen to be selling full-priced games without retailer involvement, because they are trying to sell their machines as cheaply as possible at retail. 2ff7e9595c
